Whitney's Comeback

Bravo’s top-rated reality series Being Bobby Brown followed the lives of R&B; bad boy Bobby Brown and his Grammy award-winning wife, singer Whitney Houston. While the series was supposedly created to highlight the “normal” everyday lives of the popular couple, it has sparked much debate within the black community, as many observers feel that the show worsened the couples already fragile public image and reflected poorly on the black community as a whole.

Check the internet on any given day and you will find hundreds if not thousands of forums and message boards debating this very topic.

Post-after-post every detail of Being Bobby Brown is dissected — from Whitney’s choice of clothing to Bobby’s “excessive” drinking to the couples so called “lax” parenting skills — and more often than not Whitney is referred to as a “crackhead”.

No matter which way you slice it, Bravo comes out victorious in this one, because whether we like it or not, Being Bobby Brown has taken on a life of it’s own, and more importantly for BRAVO, the shows audience seems to be growing with each new episode.

The sad truth is that Bobby and Whitney are probably the most REAL couple on REALITY television…which leads to the question:

Should Whitney and Bobby get kudos for keeping it real, or should they have pretended to be something they’re not?

I am mixed about BB Brown. I guess Bobby is trying to make some $$$$$ for his kids but good grief-Whitney comes off as mean, nasty, ignorant, and basically silly. Po’ Krissy-no training other than shopping and being a brat.

I think someone should tell both Bobby and Whitney while they have a right to have a T.V. show-they need to not show and tell us EVERYTHING ABOUT THEIR RELATIONSHIP.

It’s clear that the only one making “points” in this show is the television station & its’ affiliates and sponsors. I assume that the show is edited—I would be petrified to see the “unedited” version! You would think that with the millions of dollars Bobby & Whitney have they would have a non-profit foundation, or a “cause” that they support, but rather, they seem to think throwing money on an overweight, emotionally disturbed spoiled child is “cute”.

Being Bobby Brown gives all African Americans a bad reputation. It instills the stereotypes that white America places on us. The show is an abomination! With regards to the Brown’s “keeping it real”? If that’s real, they should be put out of their misery.

Calling Whitney a crackhead is polite… she appears to be a selfish, self-centered, uneducated, ignorant, bad mother, ghetto slob. And I regret ever buying her albums or attended her concerts in the mid-’80’s. And Bobby to be a lop-sided mouth (crackhead-induced) has-been who has confirmed, through his television show, that his biggest fear is his reality—that without Whitney he would be an absolute “nobody”.

Do us a favor, Mr. & Mrs. Brown, don’t embarass yourselves or our race any longer—cancel!”

Go Whitney, she should have divorced him years ago. He lead her to the road of ruin. Yay! Love you Whitney!

HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT ABOUT WHITNEY! She’s a better singer than you will ever be. She’s done more for the black community then any of this crap music that they have today.

When we watch these shows we need to remember that these reality shows are edited, setting forth the agenda of the producers. Whose reality is it? The producer of the show, that’s who. The Real World and Jerry Springer started this mess and is the prototype for this this reality TV crap. Just like the Roman and Greek empires before them, America will fall, too because of the depravity and lack of respect of humanity. Real life is so not about humiliation for dollars. Truth is reality TV sucks and no one comes off in a positive light. All reality TV shows is man’s depravity and how low the human condition can go. It’s all disgusting, not to mention sad. No wonder this country has lost respect in the global community. America, know that the world is watching. We act like this is something to be proud of and it’s not. The best thing about Whitney is that I hope it inspired Whitney to come back to self respect. Hopefully she saw herself and decided hell 2 da naw, this was not her. I’m glad she’s back, though. Bobby didn’t come off looking too respectable either. And that poor child, came off as unsupervised and bratty. Is it worth it. I wish the heads of the entertainment companies will go back to the drawing board and come up with something more entertaining than so-called reality TV.

After the divorce, one sure thing is that Whitney is not totally finished. What happened to Bobby?

People have written Bobby off, but I believe that there are labels in the hip hop community that would benefit most lucratively from signing Mr. Brown! His image practically personifies hip hop today! Bad boy! Grand Hustle! Cash money clique! G-Unit! Are you listening? Ja rule was on the right track, but his career was dying when he tried to help Bobby. Whitney will be fine, but Bobbi Christina will need years and years of therapy just for being born to those 2 Knuckleheads!(She won’t be broke, though!

I am happy for whitney, she looks good now and Bobby still has alot left in him, they don’t call him the king of R&B for nothing. I can’t wait to see both them rise back to the top, especially Bobby. Bobby has reunited with New edition and has a new reality show coming out dating Bobby brown and that song Lying Eyes is nice Bobby, but stick to what made you. Whitney your’e the best EVER. I think that one of your best move other than your soulful singing is leaving that triffling, no good excuse for a man.
A woman like yourself is worth man like myself, to truly take you and protect you for who you are.

God’s blessing to you my love.
