MORE NEWS:

Comedian turned actor, Chris Rock, has begun divorce proceedings to end his 10 year marriage to wife, Malaak Compton-Rock. The reason for the split is not yet known as neither Rock nor his wife have spoke publically about the break-up.

In February of 1999 the couple made Ebony Magazine’s “10 Hottest Couples” list. At which time, Rock credited his wife for “bringing focus” into his life. “She’s really calmed me down and centered my life”, said Rock. “I’m not running around chasing women like I used to. I get more work done.”

Chris Rock and Malaak Compton met in 1994 at a New York City awards show. They were married two years later in November 1996 and had two children during their relationship, Lola Simone in June 2002 and Zahra Savannah in May 2004.

Once called “the funniest man in America” by Time Magazine, the multi-talented Rock is a veteran of both television and films. His latest film project, “I Think I Love My Wife,” is currently in post-production.

Malaak Compton-Rock is the founder of styleWORKS, a Brooklyn based salon that offers free grooming services to women who are moving from welfare to work.
