When the new season of FOX’s hit TV show “24” kicks off in January 2007, Wayne Palmer (played by actor D.B. Woodside), will be the newly elected president of the United States, a role which had been previously held by his brother David Palmer (played by actor Dennis Haysbert).

Regina King will star opposite of Woodside, appearing as his sister, Sandra, a strong-minded and powerful Advocacy lawyer.

Regina King is best known for her roles in top movies like Jerry McGuire, Enemy of the State, and Ray.

King began her acting career in the mid-1980’s on the popular television show 227, in which she appeared as ‘Brenda Jenkins’, the daughter of Mary Jenkins (played by Marla Gibbs).

In related news, FOX today announced that Gregory Itzin (President Logan) and Jean Smart (Martha Logan) will return next season in recurring roles.
